The District of Idaho has received information that fake Notices of Electronic Filing (NEF) are circulating nationwide. If the recipient responds to the message, they are sent a follow-up email containing a link to access a document that leads the recipient to a malicious website.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s most recent and upcoming Terms: A Most Consequential Time at the Court

After the Court overruled Roe v. Wade in 2022, you might think the Court could not top itself in terms of drawing public attention, including some public ire. But the Court arguably did indeed outdo itself in its most recent Term, especially – but not only – because its involvement in cases relating to former president Donald Trump. The most recent Term was also highly consequential for the future of the administrative state. This presentation will highlight the major decisions from the last Term and discuss some of the major issues the Court will take up in its October 2024 Term.

The Nisei Paradox

The United States Courts and Idaho Public Television partnered to produce their second documentary on historic Idaho cases.  The Nisei Paradox, which will debut at the conference, explores the constitutional quandary involving WW II internment camps and the draft.

Changes to Magistrate Judge Consent Process

The Board of Judges for the District of Idaho recently voted to change the Magistrate Judge consent process from an “opt-in” to a “opt-out” process.  Chief Magistrate Judge Raymond Patricco will outline the new process for practitioners.
