Boise Courthouse Power Outage

The Boise Courthouse is scheduled to undergo electrical power maintenance on Saturday October 8th, beginning at 7:00 am MDT. All systems will be off-line during this work and expected to be back on-line by mid afternoon. **UPDATE: Please note another maintenance outage will occur on Wednesday October 12th beginning at 6:30PM MDT. This outage is expected to last until 8:30.

Welcome to the U.S. Probation Office for the District of Idaho. The Probation Office is the investigative arm of the U.S. Courts and is charged with the responsibility to assist the U.S. Court in the impartial administration of justice through the investigation and supervision of individuals charged with and convicted of federal crimes. The U.S. Probation Office covers the entire state of Idaho. The U.S. Probation Office is the only federal law enforcement agency not under the Executive Branch of the Government.

Chief's Message

This is the public website of the Probation and Pretrial Services unit for the District of Idaho.  Our offices in BoiseCoeur d'Alene, Moscow, Pocatello, and Twin Falls provide core services of pretrial investigation and supervision, presentence investigation, and post-conviction supervision of persons charged or convicted of federal crimes.

In this website, you will find information about the services we provide, and contact information for our staff and locations of service.  This site was designed to be of service to the public, those we supervise, and those who do business, or wish to to do business with us in the future.  We are especially committed to the educational process and besides our student internship program, our staff frequently speak at local high schools and colleges.  We are committed to educating all those with whom we do business.  I encourage you to look at our Strategic Plan and see the many ways we are committed to constantly improving as individuals and as a team.
