Coeur d'Alene Courthouse Closure and Reopening

On July 1, 2024, the United States Courthouse in Coeur 'd Alene, Idaho sustained water damage and flooding. On July 2, 2024, the U.S. Courts building in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, closed by General Order No.447.  This Order has now been rescinded and effective Monday, July 15, 2024 the Courthouse shall be reopened as per General Order No. 449. Bankruptcy Judge Benjamin Hursh

The Honorable Benjamin Hursh was appointed to the bench on February 1, 2017, in the District of Montana.  With the consent of Judge Hursh, the Ninth Circuit entered a temporary transfer to allow Judge Hursh to preside over cases in the District of Idaho.  The transfer is in addition to Judge Hursh's duties as Chief Bankruptcy Judge in the District of Montana. 

Judge Hursh has been assigned all of the cases over which Judge Hillen has a conflict, and he has been assigned a portion of the new chapter 7, 11, and 12 cases filed in both North Idaho and South Idaho.
